Georges began his legal career in Beirut at Marcel Sioufi Law Firm specializing in corporate and commercial law and litigation.

In 1986, Georges joined CMA CGM as in-house counsel. During his tenure he accompanied the rapid growth of CMA CGM which became the 3rd largest shipping company worldwide with an annual turnover of about $20 billion and a fleet of more than 500 ships.

​

For 21 years he was the General Counsel of CMA CGM, managing a team of 40 lawyers and handling various matters from M&A to litigation, competition and corporate issues.

​

In 2007, he was appointed  Special Advisor to the President of CMA CGM. He worked very closely with the president on all strategic issues, particularly on issues involving restructuring and financing.

​

In 1996 and until 1998, he was an Elected Judge at the Tribunal de Commerce de Marseille.  He is currently arbitrator and member of the Board of Directors of the Chambre Arbitrale Maritime de Paris.

​

In 2014, he left CMA CGM to establish “SRDB Avocat et Associés” in Paris and Marseilles; Since 2016, he founded offices and partnerships in Beijing, Algeria, Abidjan, Qatar, Damascus, Comoros, Cameroon and Ukraine. Georges is also a partner at Marcel Sioufi Law firm in Beirut.

Georges holds a law degree from Paris II (Assas) University and a maritime law degree from Aix-Marseille University.
